Your visit
What do I need to bring?
Please have your imaging requisition and valid health card available. We accept requisitions from other healthcare facilities. Both must be received before your exam. MSP-covered services are covered with a valid health card.
When should I arrive?
Please arrive 15 minutes before a scheduled appointment. If you're late we may need to reschedule.
Can I bring my children?
Children may not accompany you during your exam, and they can't be left unattended in the waiting room. Please arrange child care before your visit.
Can my partner or a family member come to my obstetric ultrasound?
Yes. One guest may join you briefly once the diagnostic portion of your ultrasound is complete.
Can I take photos or make video calls in the clinic?
To protect patient privacy, photography, video recording and video calls are not permitted inside our clinics.
Are results provided during an obstetrical ultrasound?
Results, including your baby’s sex, are not provided during the appointment. Your healthcare provider will review your results with you.
Is there anything I should avoid wearing?
WCMI is a low-scent environment. Please avoid perfumes and scented products.
How do I prepare for my exam?
Some exams need preparation (for example, fasting or a full bladder for certain ultrasounds). See the exam preparation guides for ultrasound, X-ray, mammography and MRI.
Results & copies
How will I get my results?
A radiologist reviews your images and prepares a report. Reports are typically sent to your referring healthcare provider within 2–3 business days. Your healthcare provider will review the results with you.
Can I get a copy of my images or report?
Yes. Visit any WCMI clinic with valid photo identification. Our reception team will assist you with completing a records request. Fees: $10 per report, $40 for images on a USB flash drive. For questions about your imaging findings or next steps, contact the healthcare provider who requested your exam.
